BWOKAA “Kuarup EXTINCTION” is an altar for ‘Day of the Dead’.
It´s inspired by rituals of the indigenous people of Xingu. The altar is a tribute to Brazilian endangered animals.
An scenario that simulates a small forest, habitat of most animals that are about to disappear. The animals are made of recycled wood, to respect the ritual Kuarup.
BWOKAA Brazil is a visual artist based in Barcelona since 2001 www.bwokaa.com
Kuarup most famous is the ceremony held by the Indians acted Xingu. The “ceremony for the dead.”
Extinction is the disappearance of all members of a species. Before humans mass extinctions were relatively rare events.
